Evenfall Privacy Policy

Evenfall is a private space for reflective journaling, made by Erek Studio. This policy explains, plainly, what happens to your words.
The short version
- No account. You do not sign up, log in, or give us your name or email to use Evenfall.
- Your journal and memories live on your device. They are stored in the app's private storage on your phone, not on our servers. They are never backed up to our servers, and on Android the app opts out of cloud backup so they do not leave the device.
- To write each reply, your words are sent to a trusted AI. A companion reply has to be generated somewhere. When you send a message, that message and the short on-device memory the app keeps about you are sent over an encrypted connection to our gateway, which forwards it to a trusted AI provider to compose the reply.
- We do not store your conversations. Our gateway is zero-retention: it forwards your text to the AI provider and back to you and keeps no copy. The only things we store are anonymous, content-free counters, such as how many requests this device made today, used to run the service and prevent abuse.
What is processed, and by whom
On your device, not sent to us:
- Your saved reflections, the Journal.
- The short memory Evenfall keeps about you, editable and erasable on the Memory tab.
- App settings.
Sent to our gateway and our AI provider, only to generate a reply:
- The recent messages in the current conversation and the on-device memory text.
Your replies are composed by DeepInfra, which hosts the DeepSeek model we use, on servers in the United States, with OpenAI used only as a fallback if DeepInfra is unavailable. Under their standard API terms, these providers do not use your content to train their models. They may process and briefly retain content for safety and abuse-monitoring as described in their own policies — DeepInfra states that it generally does not log request content but reserves the right to log a small portion for debugging and security. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone other than the AI provider needed to generate your reply.
Voice / dictation
If you use the microphone button, speech is transcribed to text on your device by your operating system. Audio is not recorded by Evenfall and is not sent to our servers.
Reporting a reply
If you choose to report an AI reply, that reply and a little surrounding context is sent to us so we can review it and keep Evenfall safe. This is the one case where content you explicitly choose to send is kept on our servers, for up to 90 days, for moderation.
Advertising
The free tier is supported by rewarded ads served by Google AdMob: you choose to watch a short video to keep the conversation going, and Evenfall Premium removes ads entirely. To serve them, AdMob receives your device's advertising identifier, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and interaction data such as ad impressions and clicks. On iOS we ask your permission first (App Tracking Transparency); in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland we ask for consent through Google's consent form, and you can change your answer at any time from About & safety → Ad privacy options. If you decline, you still see ads, but non-personalised ones. We add no analytics or crash-reporting SDK of our own. Your journal and your memory are never used to target ads.
Payments
Subscriptions are handled directly by Apple's App Store or Google Play. We never receive your card details.
Subprocessors
- Cloudflare - runs the gateway that relays your request, for transit and compute, and stores no content except user-submitted reports.
- DeepInfra, hosting DeepSeek, with OpenAI as fallback - generate replies.
- Google AdMob - serves ads to free users, and processes the advertising identifier, approximate location and ad-interaction data described above.
- Apple / Google - device attestation, App Attest / Play Integrity, and payments.
Children
Evenfall is not directed to children and is intended for a general audience.
Your control
- Edit or clear what Evenfall remembers, any time, on the Memory tab.
- Delete individual reflections in the Journal.
- Deleting the app removes the on-device journal and memory from your phone.
